NCV8740 High Voltage Linear Regulators

onsemi NCV8740 High Voltage Linear Regulators are automotive‑qualified, high‑input‑voltage LDOs designed to deliver reliable low‑power regulation in harsh vehicle and industrial environments. The onsemi NCV8740 supports a wide 3V to 85V input voltage range and provides up to 100mA of output current, making the regulators suitable for direct connection to automotive battery rails and other high‑voltage sources. These components are offered in a 3.3V fixed output version, as well as an adjustable version from 1.2V to 20V, with output accuracy of ±0.5% at +25°C and excellent regulation across temperature. The device features ultra‑low quiescent current (typically 5µA) and very low standby current, supporting energy‑efficient operation in always‑on automotive systems. Stability is maintained with a small 1µF ceramic output capacitor, enabling compact PCB layouts, while integrated soft‑start helps limit inrush current during startup.
