Renesas Electronics 5X2503 & 5L2503 MicroClock™ Clock Generators

Renesas Electronics 5X2503 and 5L2503 MicroClock™ Programmable Clock Generators are ideal for compact, portable applications that require a small form factor and long battery life. Measuring only 2.5mm x 2.5mm, the 5X2503 and 5L2503 devices have independently programmable LVCMOS outputs with frequencies up to 125MHz. These clock generators also support a 32.768kHz real-time reference clock (RTC) on all three outputs while consuming as little as 2µA of current.

Each MicroClock provides an internal one-time programmable memory that allows the user to store a configuration in the device. The ability to store a configuration on a device eliminates the need for programming after power-up. This feature also offers flexibility on diversified platforms.

The 5X2503 provides an integrated 26MHz crystal, so it does not require an external crystal or any external reference clock. In addition to maximizing board space, this device enables users to focus on the signals necessary for the downstream components.

The Renesas Electronics 5X2503 and 5L2503 MicroClock™ Programmable Clock Generators are housed in a compact DFN-12 package ideal for space-constrained applications.
