Adafruit 1788 Music Maker MP3 Shield for Arduino features the VLSI VS1053, an encoding/decoding (codec) chip that can decode various audio formats. This music maker MP3 shield can be used to record audio in both PCM (WAV) and compressed Ogg Vorbis. All the functionalities are implemented in a lightweight SPI interface so that any Arduino can play audio from an SD card. The 1788 Music Maker MP3 shield includes an onboard 3W/channel stereo audio amplifier that can drive 4Ω or 8Ω speakers. This music maker shield works with Arduino Uno, Mega, or Leonardo.
Decode a wide variety of audio formats like MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, MIDI, FLAC, and WAV (PCM and ADPCM)
