Red Lion ARCJ Kits
Red Lion ARCJ Kits offer a magnetic pickup sensor or HESS option for easy adaptation of sensors and sensing gears. These kits are supplied complete with a 60-tooth sensing gear, factory-installed magnetic pickup or HESS sensor, and mounting hardware. The ARCJ kits support a maximum recommended gear speed of 5000RPM. These kits include cast‑aluminum ring adapters with precision‑machined mounting surfaces and an integral junction box. The ARCJ ring adapters install quickly on foot‑mounted motors with NEMA type "C" face‑mount end bells or between the motor and gear‑case flange.
The ARCJ kits with the magnetic pickup sensor option feature a factory-installed magnetic pickup, providing a nominal sensor/gear air gap of 0.007" (0.18mm) to 0.010" (0.25mm). This air gap can be easily user-adjusted to 0.005" (0.13mm) minimum, once the particular gear being used is mounted on the motor shaft to maximize the output. The magnetic pickup sensor does not require external power.
The ARCJ kits with the Hall Effect Speed Sensor (HESS) option provide a factory-set nominal sensor to gear air gap of 0.015" (0.38mm). This air gap can be adjusted by the user from 0.005" (0.13mm) to 0.040" (1.02mm), which allows 0.005" (0.13mm) maximum total gear runout. The HESS sensor requires an external power source ranging from 8VDC to 30VDC. This HESS sensor does not have a minimum threshold speed, as does a magnetic pickup sensor.
These two sensor options are available with the ARCJ kits in order to meet a wide variety of applications. Typical applications include factory automation, alternative energy, oil and gas, power and utilities, transportation, water, and wastewater.
