NXP Semiconductors PCT2075 Digital Temperature Sensors

NXP Semiconductors PCT2075 Digital Temperature Sensor is a temperature-to-digital converter that features ±1ºC accuracy over -25ºC to +100ºC range. The PCT2075 Sensor uses an on-chip band gap temperature sensor and Sigma-Delta A-to-D conversion technique with an overtemperature detection output that is a drop-in replacement for other LM75 series thermal sensors. Typical applications include system thermal management, personal computers, electronics equipment, and industrial controllers.

The PCT2075 Digital Temperature Sensor is offered in Small 8-pin (SO8, TSSOP8, and HWSON8) and 6-pin (TSOP6) package types, for design flexibility.

  • Pin-for-pin replacement for LM75 series
  • Configurable for up to 27 devices on the bus
  • Power supply range from 2.7V to 5.5V
  • Temperatures range from -55°C to +125°C
  • Frequency range 20kHz to 1MHz with SMBus time-out to prevent hanging up the bus
  • 1.0MHz Fast-mode Plus (Fm+) 30mA SDA drive allows more devices on the same bus but is backward compatible to Fast-mode and Standard-mode
  • 11-bit ADC that offers a temperature resolution of 0.125°C
  • Programmable temperature threshold and hysteresis set points during operation
  • Temperature accuracy of:
    • ±1°C (max.) from -25°C to +100°C
    • ±2°C (max.) from -55°C to +125°C
  • Supply current of <1.0μA in shut-down mode for power conservation
  • Stand-alone operation as thermostat at power-up
  • ESD protection exceeds 2000V HBM per JESD22-A114 and 1000V CDM per JESD22-C101
  • Latch-up testing is done to JEDEC Standard JESD78 which exceeds 100mA
  • Package options:
    • HWSON8 (SOT1069-2); 3.0mm x 2.0mm x 0.75mm
    • SO8 (SOT96-1); 4.9mm x 3.9mm x 1.75mm
    • TSOP6 (SOT1353-1); 2.9mm x 1.5mm x 1.0mm
