STMicroelectronics STM8L Ultra-Low-Power Microcontrollers
STMicroelectronics STM8L Microcontrollers (MCUs) use a proprietary ultra-low leakage process and optimized architecture to provide high performance and ultra-low power consumption. The MCU, which includes the STM8L101xx and STM8L15xx, is based on the 8-bit STM8 core and is ideal for many applications with special care on power savings. The STM8L embeds up to 4 different ultra-low-power modes to offer users a high level of flexibility. STMicroelectronics STM8L MCUs offer a high level of integration and a compact footprint. The STM8L-DISCOVERY Board is ideal for evaluating the high-performance MCUs.Features
- Ultra-low-power proprietary 130nm technology
- Ultra-low-power design (clock gating, low-power Flash with power-off capability)
- Sub 1μA hardware RTC and AWU system unit
- Range of low-power modes (up to 4)
- Advanced and flexible clock system (multiple internal and external clock sources)
- Direct memory access on board (4-channel DMA)
- Ultra-low-power and ultra-safe reset system POR/PDR; additional optional activation BOR
- Ultra-fast wakeup from lowest low-power mode (4μs)
- Analog functional down to 1.8V, programming down to 1.65V
- Speed and power consumption independent of MCU power supply, ultra-low leakage
- Reduced overall run and wait mode current consumption by turning off clocks of unused peripherals or Flash
- Ultra-low-power modes for applications requesting regular wakeup
- Suitable for many applications from complete switch-off to continuous monitoring at ultra-low frequency
- Switch and adjust frequency and clock sources on the fly depending on application needs
- Autonomy for peripherals, independent from core; can switch off flash memory and CPU (large current consumption contributors) while keeping peripherals active
- Integrated safety and security for application
- Fast switching from static and dynamic power modes
- Full functionality over the complete Vdd range
