Texas Instruments CC3120MOD Wi-Fi Module

Texas Instruments CC3120MOD SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi Module adds Wi-Fi for IoT applications via a low-cost, low-power MCU. The CC3120MOD is a complete platform solution, including various tools and software, sample applications, user and programming guides, reference designs, and the TI E2E™ support community.

The SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi Family excels at simplifying the implementation of internet connectivity. The CC3120MOD dramatically minimizes host MCU software requirements by integrating all protocols for Wi-Fi and Internet. The device has built-in security protocols, offering a robust and simple security solution. Available in an LGA package, the Module has a simple layout with all required components. These include passive components that are fully integrated as well as Flash, RF filter, and crystal.

The power-management subsystem consists of an integrated DC-DC converter, supporting a wide range of supply voltages. Low-power consumption modes such as hibernate with RTC and shutdown are enabled in this subsystem, requiring approximately 5µA and 1µA of current.

The Wi-Fi processor subsystem provides a Wi-Fi Internet-on-chip and offers an additional dedicated Arm® MCU that offloads many networking activities from the host MCU. Also included in the subsystem is an 802.11 b/g/n radio, baseband, and MAC with a powerful crypto engine for fast, secure Internet connections with 256-bit encryption. The CC3120MOD delivers additional features and enhanced capabilities.
