Texas Instruments UCC23313/UCC23313-Q1 Isolated Gate Drivers

Texas Instruments UCC23313/UCC23313-Q1 Isolated Gate Drivers are designed for IGBTs, MOSFETs, and SiC MOSFETs, with a 4.5A source, a 5.3A sink peak output current, and a 3.75kVRMS basic isolation rating. The UCC23313/UCC23313-Q1 has a high supply voltage range of 33V and allows the use of bipolar supplies to drive IGBTs and SiC power FETs effectively. The UCC23313/UCC23313-Q1 can drive low- and high-side power FETs.

The UCC23313/UCC23313-Q1 offers key features and characteristics that significantly enhance performance and reliability over standard optocoupler-based gate drivers while maintaining pin-to-pin compatibility in schematic and layout design. Performance highlights include high common-mode transient immunity (CMTI), low propagation delay, and small pulse width distortion. This tight process control results in a small part-to-part skew. The input stage is an emulated diode (ediode) which means long-term reliability and improved aging characteristics compared to traditional LEDs.

The UCC23313/UCC23313-Q1 isolated gate drivers are ideal for use in all types of motor drives, solar inverters, industrial power supplies, and appliances. The higher operating temperature of –40°C to +150°C opens up opportunities for applications not previously able to be supported by traditional optocouplers. The Texas Instruments UCC23313-Q1 devices are AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.
