Mouser-Sponsored Dragon Racing Formula E Team Heads to California after Amazing Victory in Mexico

Mouser-Sponsored Dragon Racing is gearing up for this weekend's Formula-E race in Long Beach, California.

March 29, 2016 - Expectations are high as the Mouser Electronics-sponsored Dragon Racing Formula E Team, coming off a stunning win in Mexico City, prepares for its next big race at the Long Beach ePrix in California on April 2. Mouser is a major sponsor of the 2015-16 Dragon Racing in collaboration with valued supplier partners Molex and Panasonic.

The Dragon Racing team is now ranked No. 2 after a hard-fought triumph by No. 7 driver Jerome D'Ambrosio on March 12 at the inaugural Mexico City ePrix, the fifth leg of the world's premier racing event for all-electric cars.D'Ambrosio's teammate on the Dragon Racing Team, Loic Duval, finished fourth, helping lift the team to second place overall with a total of 102 points and significantly improving their chances for a championship title.

It was a tight, contentious race with the lead changing multiple times among D'Ambrosio, Sebastien Buemi and Lucas di Grassi. In a close finish, di Grassi crossed the line first, followed by D'Ambrosio. But then in post-race scrutineering, race officials found that the car di Grassi drove during the first half of the 43-lap contest was 1.8 kilograms under the minimum weight of 888 kilograms. Officials disqualified di Grassi and named D'Ambrosio the winner.
